Have you ever received an e-mail with these instructions in it? Does it shock you? I know I see it all the time and it really ticks me off. Basically, a company will tell you what they want you to know and they make sure that you don’t respond. They don’t care about or want your opinion in the matter. They aren’t listening.
E-mail is not that complicated. How hard is it to redirect e-mail from the sender’s box to a monitored customer service e-mail? Better yet, why not make the from address a monitored customer service e-mail address. At worse, why not provide the e-mail address or phone number of a representative you can contact with a question or comment about your e-mail?
It seams amazing to me that companies spend millions to attract visitors and get them to engage with a site only to turn them off with these messages. If you are running a website today and send e-mails with these messages on them, I can only strongly suggest you reconsider this approach. It doesn’t make sense to ignore your customers. That’s my rant for the day.
